Ghaith Hattab has received his M.Sc degree from Queen's University, Kingston ON, Canada, and his B.Sc degree from American University of Sharjah (AUS), Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE), all in Electrical Engineering in April 2014 and June 2012, respectively. He is currently pursuing a PhD degree at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Ghaith Hattab has earned the Presidential Cup awarded by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Al Qassimi for graduating with the highest GPA achievable (4.0/4.0). He is the recipient of the IEEE Kingston Section M.Sc Research Excellence Award, Queen’s University Graduate Award, and the Electrical Engineering Departmental Fellowship at UCLA. He is also the recipient of the Chancellor Award, Dean's Award, and the Ideal Student Award at AUS. In addition, he is the recipient of Ministry of Presidential Affairs (MOPA) fellowship for academic excellence.
His current research focuses on algorithm development, optimization, and signal processing for wireless communication systems, including 5G coexistence with incumbents (sub-6GHz and mmWave), providing connectivity for massive IoT, network densification and massive MIMO for 5G networks, and dynamic spectrum access.
